This permits the creativity to happen “within” the framework established, and (hopefully) deliver creative control in a, to borrow a phrase from Rory Gordon, “patterned and predictable” manner. Using a look works as a baseline entry point, and the creative options are buried, under and in some cases, on top of the image. I am sure most folks have seen their colour awareness expand, and can now spot issues and errors. Question: Why are “looks” a thing? Can’t we have the same fidelity Darktable has in Blender?īecause in the end, getting reasonable colour out of digital working spaces is a way harder problem than folks initially realize.
